Pistachio Milk

Pistachios lend their buttery, subtly sweet flavor to all kinds of treats, like baklava and ice cream. They make a delicious nut milk, with a gentle green color, that is terrific for drinking, baking, and desserts!

Pistachios are also rich in fiber, protein, vitamin B, and several minerals such as manganese, iron, phosphorus, and magnesium. Just 100 g of pistachios provides 76% the daily value of vitamin B1 (thiamine)! Using raw pistachios with our Raw cycle preserves these nutrients for a delicious, health-boosting plant milk.

Ingredients

  • Raw, shelled pistachios
    • 1 3/4 US Customary cups for SoyaJoy
    • 1 1/3 US Customary cups for SoyaPower
  • Water

*Note that the provided measuring cup (called “Sanlinx cup” in the user manual”) equals 1/2 US Customary cup

TIPS

We like just a touch of honey to lift up the flavors. Plus- the pistachio pulp would be a fantastic addition in cookies or muffins, or baked into granola

Instructions

  • Soak the shelled pistachios for 6 hours, or overnight
  • Add pistachios to machine, and add drinking water up to between the lines
  • Close machine, power on, and press “Raw”
  • Relax.
  • When the cycle finishes, strain the milk with a sieve or nut milk bag
  • Add flavorings or sweeteners to taste
  • Enjoy!
